Victory Charter School Community Service Requirements

Community Service key to developing good citizenship

Victory Charter School considers service to others an integral part of good citizenship.  The following service hours are required for completion of grades 7 through High School.

7th and 8th grades require an accumulated 30 hours of community service during both years combined.

  • Students may obtain some of these hours during summer break.
  • Community Service consists of voluntary service to any person or organization in the community outside of the student’s family.
  • Service hours must be documented with a description of the service performed, time accrued and signed by an adult.
  • Documentation can be submitted to teachers at anytime, but must be submitted prior to the end of the 8th grade school year.

High School requirements are: 50 hours of Family Service and 50 hours of Community Service per academic year.  These hours must be completed by the end of each academic year.  Students may carry over an excess to the following year, but not a deficit.

  • Students may obtain some of these hours during summer break.
  • Community Service consists of voluntary service to any person or organization in the community outside of the student’s family.
  • Family Service consists of voluntary tasks performed for immediate and extended family members, excluding regular chores such as “cleaning your room”.  Parents may suggest ideas for their students to use.
  • Service hours must be documented with a description of the service performed, time accrued and signed by an adult.
  • Documentation can be submitted to teachers at anytime, but must be submitted prior to the end of the school year.
